What is it?
"What Educators Need to Know About FASD" is a resource developed by the Manitoba Government and published in 2009 to help educators who are teaching children with FASD for the first time. The Handbook introduces what FASD is, the diagnostic processes, the challenges students will face and offers many strategies teachers can try to help students with their learning needs. How to use it The handbook should be read by teachers as soon as the find out they will have a student with FASD in their classroom. Once getting to know their student and the students specific learning needs, the teacher can begin implementing the different strategies that are suggested in the document to help meet that students needs.
